Document Description
Caltrans District 9 is proposing a pavement repair project on State Routes(SR) 120 and 395 in Mono County. The pavement in the project limits is suffering distress and the purpose of this project is to restore the pavement to a serviceable condition. The proposed project will apply different chip seal applications at two locations. Location 1 on SR 120 shall receive a single Asphalt Rubber chip seal, followed by a flush coat, fog and sand application. This location shall be rolled with a steel roller in addition to rubber tire rollers. Location 2 on US 395 shall receive a Double chip seal followed by a fog seal. Both locations shall apply chip seal operations from edge of pavement (EP) to EP and no proposed work will take place past the EP. Vacuum (pick up) sweepers will collect excess material and prevent waste material from leaving the roadway. Grinding for rumble strip and recessed striping is proposed. No drainage or concrete work is proposed. No vegetation or dirt will be disturbed outside the existing pavement and contractor use areas. All work and staging will occur within the existing operational right of way with no new construction. Traffic will not be re-routed during construction.
