Document Description
Caltrans is proposing a project that will install lighting standards along US 395 at four intersections: Miller Lane, Fort Independence Travel Plaza, West Dusty Lane, and Fort Road. This includes running conduit alongside the highway to power the lights, installing a service cabinet and pull boxes every 200’ and at each lighting standard. Pull boxes are 1’x2’ area and 1’ depth. The conduits will be located within the maintained shoulder on both sides of the roadway and will also run under the roadway at intersections. Maximum trench dimensions are 12” wide by 48” deep. Up to 3 lighting standards will be installed at each intersection and will be mounted on 3’ diameter reinforced concrete piles with 8’ depth. Staging areas will be on the shoulders at intersections. All work and staging will occur within the existing operational right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
