Document Description
The University of California Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) is proposing to conduct maintenance dredging at the SIO Nimitz Marine Facility (MarFac) berthing wharf and pier. Dredging is needed within the approach channel and at the pier and berthing wharf in order to maintain adequate navigational and berthing depths for research vessels. Sediments from the project are proposed for nearshore disposal at an approved Coronado Beach disposal site, located offshore of Coronado Beach on Navy property.
