Document Description
California State University Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) is proposing the preparation of a Waterfront Master Plan to implement improvements along Cal Maritime’s shoreline to make ready for arrival of the next generation of state-of-the-art training ships—the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) as well as other upgrades to be constructed in three phases over the next 10+ years. Phase one projects would be essential to fulfilling Cal Maritime's readiness for NSMV and include expansion of the main pier, dredging new floating and training docks, expansion and upgrades to the marine yard, and utilities relocation and upgrade. Phase two project would focus on expansion of cadet instruction and marine programs including new breakwater, new boat basin with additional slips, renovation of the boathouse, and shoreline enhancements. Phase three would add classrooms and outdoor learning spaces.
