Document Description
The Project is primarily located along the De La Vina Street Vision Zero Priority Corridor and includes improvements to provide pedestrians with a safer crossing. Standard curb extensions will be installed at six intersections, including City standard Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access ramps, to reduce pedestrian crossing distances, and improve visibility between pedestrians and approaching drivers. To increase nighttime visibility, City standard street lights will be installed at proposed crossing locations. The installation of high visibility crosswalk markings and signs to alert drivers of the presence of the crossing and high visibility bike markings (sharrow) along existing and proposed bike routes will also improve safety. The Project also includes construction of approximately 210 linear feet of sidewalk infill on the south side of West Padre Street, between De La Vina Street and Chapala Street. The Project is located entirely within the public right-of-way (ROW) where ground disturbance has already occurred. This Project will require approximately four to five trees to be removed and replaced in-kind. The Project will not result in the expansion of services.
