Reasons for Exemption
The proposed use has been determined to be Categorically Exempt under the following California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and CEQA Guidelines. Section 15301 Class 1 (Existing Facilities) and Section 15303 Class 3 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) Class 1 consist of existing structures in which an addition does not increase the size of the building by more than 50 percent of the floor area of 2,500 feet whichever is less. The proposed modification will not increase the size of the tower. Class 3 consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The project proposes to co-locate a new wireless facility onto an existing 49-foot-3-inch-tall existing monopole wireless communication facility and the installation of minor equipment cabinets within the existing enclosure.
