Reasons for Exemption
The proposed Multipurpose room and music and flex lab rooms are exempt from CEQA under Class 14, Minor Additions to Schools (Section 15314) where the project “does not increase original student capacity.” School capacity would not be affected as the number of classrooms are not expected to change. Since the new structure is located on the same site and have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the replaced structure, the project is exempt from CEQA under Sections 15302.
The proposed replacement of the existing lunch shelter with a new lunch shelter is exempt from CEQA under Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction (Section 15302), which includes replacement of structures that “will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced.” The proposed replacement of the lunch shelter would have substantially the same purpose and is located in the same location as the lunch shelter replaced within the project site.
The proposed fencing modifications are exempt from CEQA under Class 3, New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures (Section 15303), which includes “Accessory structures including garages, carports, patios, swimming pools, and fences.”
The proposed new parking lot would be exempt from CEQA under Class 11, Accessory Structures (Section 15311), which includes “small parking lots”.
