Document Description
To authorize an existing 2,376-square-foot residence with paved driveway and curb, retaining walls located on the waterside levee slope, approximately 161-foot concrete retaining wall along the left (east) bank of the Sacramento River, an existing septic tank near the south property line, and an existing well located approximately 42 feet north of the residence. This project also includes hand-placing a thin layer of 12 inch minus quarry stone along the left (east) bank of the Sacramento River, which is considered a maintenance activity that does not require USACE, Section 408 review.

Reasons for Exemption
Board staff has determined that the project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1, Existing Facilities and Class 4, Minor Alterations to Land, categorical exemptions (CEQA Guidelines §15301 and §15304), because the activity consists of permitting existing private structures and facilities. No expansion of existing or former use will occur. The project consists of minor private alterations to land which do not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply.
