Document Description
To create 8.4 acres of instream habitat enhancement, restoring in-channel, riparian, and floodplain habitat primarily for salmonid spawning by filling parts of the existing river channel with gravels to replenish gravel that has moved downstream, creating pool-riffle sequences in the mainstem Tuolumne River, and adding boulders to the downstream riffles and pools. An existing culvert will also be replaced and the existing road that extends upstream of Old La Grange Bridge will be improved. The Project also includes temporary access roads that will be removed.

The project is statutorily exempt under the provisions of CEQA. The Board’s approval involves issuing an encroachment permit for the restoration and creation of in-channel, riparian, and floodplain habitat under the Basso-La Grange Reach Floodplain and Spawning Habitat Restoration Project, which is exempt under the statutory exemption of the CEQA Public Resources Code Section 21080.56, subdivisions (a) to (d) and received concurrence from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife pursuant to CEQA Public Resources Code Section 21080.56(e). The Central Valley Flood Protection Board's (Board’s) administrative record related to the encroachment permit is available for public review at the Board's office.
