Document Description
The City of Redding (City) will conduct a renovation project at South City Park. The project will include park amenities such as walking paths, lighting, landscaping, a large playground, parking improvements, shade structures, athletic courts, stage, storage building, and restroom. The project will involve modification or removal of existing buildings and structures; vegetation removal and replanting; and installation of new equipment, structures, utilities, lighting, signs, and other recreational amenities. Construction will require demolition, earthwork, trenching, and paving. Work will be conducted on City property.

Class 3 exemptions consist of construction and location of new small facilities and equipment, or conversion of existing structures. The existing park will be renovated to meet public recreational needs with modern accessible amenities that meet public safety standards. The project will be located on the same site, will have the same purpose and capacity, and will result in a negligible expansion of use. The action area does not have significant values for wildlife habitat or other environmental resources and the project has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
