Document Description
This proposed project involves construction and operation and maintenance (O&M) of a utility scale solar photovoltaic (PV) electrical generating and battery energy storage system (BESS) and associated infrastructure facilities on approximately 3,735 acres of private and Bureau of Land Management (BLM)- administered land. The Project will generate up to 390 megawatts (MW) of renewable electricity via arrays of solar PV panels and store up to 650 MW in a BESS. The Project as authorized in Amendment No. 1 will result in permanent impacts to western burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia hypugaea) and its habitat over the same Project area previously identified in the original ITP for desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii).
