Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) issued an Emergency Director’s Order to address damage caused by a sudden and unexpected slip out/land subsidence resulting in a culvert separation on State Route (SR) 299 at Post Mile (PM) 26.5/27.5. The inspection of the drainage system revealed multiple significant separations as a result of the land movement. A 24" HDPE liner (pre-fabricated snap liner) will be inserted via the outlet. The space between the old and new liners will be sealed with concrete grout. The concrete grout will be isolated from all water until dry. Minor tree trimming may be required for equipment access during installation of the liner. The scope of work includes traffic control, vegetation removal, and culvert replacement. Work is scheduled to begin October 13, 2022 and conclude by or before October 22, 2022. The purpose of this project is to provide temporary repair to the separated culvert before the rainy season and keep the roadway safely open to the public. This project is needed immediately to prevent and mitigate the loss or impairment of life, health, property, and essential services. All proposed work is within Caltrans right of way (ROW).
