Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) would provide funding to the Truckee River Watershed Council to implement the Euer Valley Restoration Project (project). The project involves protecting 30 acres of high-quality meadow and stream habitat by promoting sustainable recreational access. This will be accomplished by replacing the existing degraded earthen trail and failed culvert through the wet meadow with an elevated boardwalk; installing a permanent bridge where the existing trail crosses the South Fork of Prosser Creek (Coyote Crossing); and stabilizing an existing equestrian crossing of the creek. Additional project elements in the Nevada County IS/MND include repairing rutting, erosion, and drainage crossings along South Euer Valley Road; and restoring hydrologic functions and riparian features along ½ mile of the South Fork Prosser Creek downstream of Coyote Crossing. The project was identified in Tahoe Donner Association’s (TDA) Trails Master Plan to enhance recreational user experience and improve environmental conditions. The project was evaluated in its entirety in an Initial Study (IS); and SNC has independently reviewed the IS and determined the project would not result in significant environmental impacts.
