Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), utilizing State Funds only, is proposing to restore State Route 299 in Modoc County from Post Miles 40.6 to 46.5 to a condition that requires minimal maintenance. This Highway Maintenance (HM) dollar job would apply an Asphalt Rubber (AR) Chip Seal over the existing roadway. All work will be done within the existing roadbed. No work will be performed on bridge decks. There will be no increase in disturbed soil area or impervious surface. Removal of thermoplastic pavement markings will be required. This project will be constructed in 2022 and will take approximately 20 working days.

Caltrans has determined that this project would have negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, and would have no significant effect on the environment.
