Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to widen the pavement and upgrade other facilities in order to construct a two-way left turn lane on U.S. Route 395, near the city of Bishop in Inyo County. The two-way left turn lane will be constructed from postmiles 114.00 to 114.40, and the pavement will be widened by 2.5 to 6 feet on either side of U.S. Route 395 in order to construct the turn lane. Four culverts (postmiles 114.13, 114.15, 114.62, 114.87) will need to be extended to account for the shoulder widening. Other work includes conforming 2 driveways and 2 cross-streets that intersect with U.S. Route 395, re-striping the pavement, and replacing and relocating existing highway signs within Caltrans right-of-way. Approximately 8 drainage easements will be obtained to perform culvert extension work at the inlets and outlets of the four culverts.
