Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-HUM-53808-R1C), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant is the California Department of Transportation.In accordance with the Notification and supporting documents, the purpose of the project is to partially replace and seismically retrofit the northbound U.S. Highway 101 Eel River Bridge (Bridge No. 04-0016R) from PMs R53.7 to M54.3. The project would replace existing bridge spans 1 through 4 (south abutment to pier 5) with a cast-in-place, prestressed, box girder bridge. The remaining piers 5 through 8 would be seismically retrofitted. The highway will be realignment at the bridge approach and will include construction of a retaining wall.
