Document Description
The project is limited to removing dead, downed vegetation, and non-native trees along the banks of Rush Creek adjacent to Valley Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home and the Rush Creek Open Space Preserve. The project will remove 1,076 non-native Eucalyptus trees, and other trees and shrubs that are infected with Hymenochaetaceae fungas and scale-insect disease. The project area will be replanted with 460 native nursery sourced riparian plant species and the stream bank will be stakes with 300 native locally sourced tree stakes. The project will have an impact of 1.4 acres of riparian habitat adjacent to Rush Creek. All heavy equipment will operate from adjacent existing access road and will not enter the wetted channel.
