The proposed project involves replacement the existing playground equipment and playground surfacing material as well as flooring; and HVAC improvements, which would include replacement of 47 package units, and installation of one split system, including 47 Plus 50 CO2 Monitors, and 47 Pearl Economizer Controllers. These improvements to the Sky View ES campus are intended to be beneficial to the students and staff of the school by improving air quality throughout the campus and enhancing outdoor learning environments.

As described above, the proposed project would include replacement of 47 package units, and installation of one split system, including 47 Plus 50 CO2 Monitors, and 47 Pearl Economizer Controllers. In addition, the proposed project includes replacement of the existing playground equipment and surficial material as well as flooring.
The proposed project does not involve the on-site use of a hazardous waste incinerator or thermal treatment unit, or the potential release into the air of volatile organic compounds. The proposed project would not add any building space to the existing school and would not increase student capacity. Existing use of the facility as an elementary school would stay the same under the proposed project. Therefore, the project is exempt from CEQA under Sections 15301.
