Document Description
The City of Redwood City will be the Lead Agency to prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the City of Redwood City 6th Cycle Housing Element Update. The Housing Element Update consists of Focused General Plan Update related to the Housing, Land Use and Public Safety Element, Environmental Justice goals, policies, and programs and associated Zoning and Municipal Code Amendments. The updated goals, programs, and policies in the Housing Element are required to meet Redwood City's Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA). Redwood City's latest RHNA calls for 4,588 new housing units. The EIR will evaluate the potential environmental impacts of implementing the Housing Element Update and recommended mitigation measures for any significant impact, as required.
