Document Description
This is a Highway Maintenance (HM) 122 Pavement Maintenance Project located in Nevada County on Interstate 80 approximately 0.6 miles East of Trout Creek Bridge (170031) undercrossing (UC) to approximately 0.01 miles East of Truckee River Bridge (170012). This project includes preventative and corrective maintenance strategies that help prolong the life of existing infrastructure. Construction work will include the removal of bonded wearing coarse (BWC) from Edge-of-Shoulder (ES) to ES, within the full project limits. Grinding, with a depth of 0.10’, will occur on the existing Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) along eastbound truck lanes on Interstate 80. The grinding will only occur on the left and right wheel paths of the eastbound truck lanes. In addition, this project will pave back 0.10’ of the Polyester Concrete truck lanes (wheel paths only). Removal and replacement of traffic stripes and markings will occur within the project limits. Slab replacement will also occur within the project limits. Slab replacement involves the full-depth, full lane width removal of a severely deteriorated concrete slab and replacing it with an appropriate repair material that meets the design life. There will be no changes to the existing drainage facilities.
