Reasons for Exemption
The California Department of Transportation has determined the project to be categorically exempt in accordance with section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Class - 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. Caltrans has determined that the project would have negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, and would have no significant effect on the environment.
