The project is limited to the following: 1) Complete removal of the existing 85-foot-long pier, including all fourteen (14) metal pipe support pilings and the concrete and stone steps attached to the landward end of the existing pier. 2) Construction of a new pier approximately one hundred and eighty-nine (189) feet in length at the same location. New pier construction activities will include: a. A thirty foot long by ten (10) foot wide pier head. b. A three (3) foot wide adjustable catwalk on one side of the pier head. c. A boat lift will be installed at the lakeward terminus of the pier head. d. Construction of the new pier will require driving sixteen (16), ten and three-quarter (10.75) inch diameter steel pipe pilings and an additional “I-beam” piling at the pier head terminus to support the boat lift. This will result in approximately ten point eight six (10.86) square feet of permanent coverage of the lakebed. 3) One of two mooring buoys (including the buoy anchor) associated with the property will be removed from the lake in exchange for addition of the boat lift. All work, including removal of the existing pier, support structure and construction of the new pier, will be conducted from the water by means of a floating barge or amphibious vehicle. Caissons will be placed around existing pilings during removal as well as placement around a new piling during pile driving operations.
