Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to inspect and repair the pipeline, as necessary, to comply with Department of Transportation and their Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration current rules and regulations. The 0.20 acre Project consists of an 80-square-foot excavation to inspect the existing pipeline and complete any necessary repairs. Once the necessary repairs are complete, the trench will be backfilled and returned to preexisting contours. The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board has prepared a Clean Water Act Section 401 Certification for the Project impacts to waters of the state.

CEQA does not apply to any project consisting of the inspection, maintenance, repair, restoration, reconditioning, relocation, replacement, or removal of an existing hazardous or volatile liquid pipeline or any valve, flange, meter, or other piece of equipment that is directly attached to the pipeline. The Project meets all of the criteria of Section 15284 - Pipelines.
