To maintain safe and reliable electric service to comply with federal and state regulatory requirements for public safety and fire prevention, Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) identified 2 tree removals under or adjacent to the PG&E Crag view Cascade to Lakehead 115 kilovolt (kV) electric distribution line on California Department of Transportation right of way land in Shasta County. No ground disturbance is required to complete the work; herbicide use is prescribed. All material, including wood and chips, will be hauled to the appropriate disposal site. Cleared vegetation and woody debris will be disposed of in a manner to ensure it does not enter surface water or a watercourse.

The project would have no significant impact on the environment.
