Document Description
The purpose of this project is to facilitate geotechnical services that will evaluate the subsurface conditions at Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park’s wastewater disposal area and develop recommendations for possible system improvements. Work will consist of the following: • Use a tracked mini excavator to dig 6 to 10 exploratory test pits within key areas identified during site reconnaissance; • Use a hand auger to excavate 4 to 8 auger borings at various locations; • Obtain representative samples from the exploratory test pits and borings; • Log the excavations in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System and/or USDA Texture Soil Classification; • Backfill all excavations with excavated soil; and • Perform field percolation/infiltration testing at various locations and elevations.
