Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and Contractor will remove vegetation within the 230k Tap line right-of-way at Pine Flat Lake. The vegetation work will be comprised of eleven Blue Oak (Quercus douglasii) trees between transmission line spans 1,2,3. The trees will be felled in place by qualified contractors with chain saws. Approximately four vertical inches of trunk will be left and treated with herbicide by hand sprayer. Trees and trimming will be fed into woodchippers. The wood chips will be broadcasted across the ground on site to eliminate green waste disposal off site.
Equipment will be hauled to and from the site by heavy duty pickups. Equipment will be staged in the immediate area on existing disturbed area and roadway. The work area is on US Army Corps of Engineers property. All work will be done within DWR right-of-way.
