Document Description
Notice of exemption for Coastal Conservancy approval of grant funding. Through its Seasons of Learning: Coastal Edition project, Unity Care Group will provide approximately 80 foster youth the opportunity to participate in fun activities for career exploration and conservation learning. Youth will be able to join any of the following activities that will be organized over the course of a year: (1) a visit to Aquarium of the Bay; (2) a visit to Stinson Beach; (3) whale and elephant seal watching at Point Reyes National Seashore; (4) a tour of the Cal Academy of Sciences; (5) a whale watching cruise at the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary; (6) a bioluminescence kayak trip at the Farallones; (7) a tour of the Monterey Bay Aquarium; (8) a visit to the Crissy Field Wave Organ and the San Francisco Maritime Historical Park; and (9) presentations about the Navy and Airforce at the Alameda Shoreline - USS Hornet Museum. This project is an opportunity for youth who usually have no alternative but to be focused on their independence to have fun while they explore the possibilities of who they might become.
