Document Description
The California Department of Transportation proposes to preserve the Old River Bridge on Post Mile 0.01 at the San Joaquin and Contra Costa County line on State Route 4. Preserving the bridge would include a polyester concrete overlay and painting the bridge. The old timber waling and fenders on the North side of Pier 3 would be replaced, and the south side of pier 2 would be with supported new high-density polyethylene walers mounted to the existing timber piles. Additionally, an abandoned Caltrans-owned one-car garage on the southwest levee would be removed.
