Document Description
The project is limited to the removal and replacement of the flashboard dam structure on Calaveras River, near Eight Mile Road. The existing concrete foundation will be dismantled and hauled off-site. A new, 57-foot-long and 5-foot-wide concrete foundation will be poured in the same footprint. The new structure will span approximately 80-feet-long and 5-feet-wide. Upright W6X20 I-beams will support
the structure. A Rubicon Flumegate will be installed and affixed to the I-beams. Aluminum plates will be bolted along each side and sealed with Zika Flex to prevent water leakage. Pressure treated boards will be cut to size and used as flashboards. Existing roads will be used for all site access. The staging area will be at least 150-feet away from the channel. Approximately 80-square-feet of clear, rock, riprap will
be placed on either side of the bank to armor the wingwalls, spanning from approximately 6-feet downstream to approximately 4-feet upstream. Up to 450-square-feet of temporary impacts to grasses or unvegetated soil may occur over the course of construction. All disturbed soils will be contoured to pre-project conditions seeded with a native seed mix.
