Document Description
The project will replace the lower section of the Manresa Uplands day use beach access stairs at Manresa State Beach to provide visitors to the day use parking area access to the beach. Work will: For the upper portion of the stairway: • Install and secure twelve (12) 18-inch diameter and two (2) 24 inch diameter reinforced concrete posts approximately 10-feet deep; • Attach galvanized steel stringers to the concrete posts; • Construct four (4) flights of redwood stairs and three (3) redwood landings with the galvanized steel stringers for support; For the lower portion of the stairway: • Excavate to below grade and remove approximately 90 cubic yards of soil; • Form and pour a 5.5-feet wide by approximately 14-feet high reinforced concrete section of stairs; and • Install new handrails along the length of the entire staircase.
