Document Description
Project will replace wooden fence posts with a 2-inch hollow metal t-posts along approximately 500 ft of fence line at the park office building area at Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area to reduce and limit the potential for damages in case of a fire. Work will: • Remove the existing wooden posts and backfill the resulting holes; • Use a post pounder to drive new 2-inch hollow metal posts into the ground in original fence alignment where wooden posts were located; • At the driveway entrance, use post puller to remove metal posts along up to 50-ft of wire fence and use post pounder to drive new posts as necessary to realign/move fence a maximum of 12- ft from original alignment/locations.

Project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels and is included as “Building (non-historical) or fence repairs” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR § 15300.4; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
