Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) issued an Emergency Director’s Order to address a sinkhole that has developed under the northbound lanes of HUM 101 PM 78.48 on the corner of L and 5th Street in Eureka, CA. Upon inspection the cause is determined to be a culvert failure with multiple joint separations between the drainage inlet and mainline. The purpose of this project is to repair the failed culvert and restore the roadway to pre-damage condition. This project is needed to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, health, property, and essential public services. The scope of work includes providing traffic control, repair of failed drainage system and roadway reconstruction. All work will be within the Caltrans right of way.
