Document Description
The City intends to establish a pedestrian mall on the following three segments of Castro Street: (1) between West Evelyn Avenue (east leg) and Villa Street; (2) between Villa Street and Dana Street; and (3) between Dana Street and California Street (Figure 2). Vehicular through-traffic access on the cross-streets along Evelyn Avenue, Villa Street, Dana Street, and California Street will continue to remain open similar to current conditions. The City plans to utilize the pedestrian mall for outdoor dining, public use areas, special events and enhanced pedestrian circulation. Motor vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the proposed pedestrian malls except for emergency and utility maintenance vehicles.
