Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301 (a) (Existing Facilities) to allow a Conditional Use Permit to operate a 2,265-square foot Cannabis Outlet in Suites 104 and 105 of an existing 5,521-square foot commercial building. Since the proposed project consists of tenant improvements and an Electric Vehicle Charging station within an existing facility, the exemption is appropriate. The exceptions listed in CEQA Section 15300.2 would not apply in that no cumulative impacts were identified; no significant effect on the environmental were identified; the project is not adjacent to a scenic highway; and the project was not identified on a list of hazardous waste sites pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code.
