Document Description
Caltrans proposes the State Route 55 (SR-55) Broadband Middle Mile Network (BMMN) along SR-55 between State Route 1 and State Route 91 in Orange County. The project includes trenching within the State right-of-way to install conduit, fiber optic cable, hub-hut, vaults, and other underground elements. Approximately 35 vaults in various locations and a hub-hut at the NB I-5 to SB SR-55 loop ramp will be installed. The project purpose is to provide and enhance access and to increase affordability of high-speed Internet for all Californians. The Disturbed Soil Area (DSA) for the proposed project is anticipated to be greater than 1.0 acre therefore a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) will be prepared and implemented to address temporary impacts to water quality. No new right of way will be required.
