Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a culvert replacement on State Route (SR) 89 at post mile 13.1, in Alpine County. The scope of work includes replacing the existing 18" Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) with a 30" Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) with Rubber Gasket Joint (RGJ). The existing concrete headwall at the inlet will be replaced with another concrete headwall. All work will occur within existing Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to improve culvert function and flow capacity. The project is needed to extend the service life of SR-89 and ensure motorist safety over this drainage.
