Document Description
The Google Bay View Campus is located in Mountain View, California and is an office campus for employees. Stormwater is collected for reuse from the site surface runoff and collected in the stormwater pond system. Rainwater collected from the building canopies will be combined with the stormwater and treated. Domestic wastewater generated onsite will be collected, routed through an onsite treatment system, and combined with the treated stormwater for reuse. The small wastewater treatment system has an 85,000 gallons per day capacity. The treatment system, except for the subsurface flow wetland treatment cells, are located inside the central utility plant building. The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board action consists of enrolling the Google Bay View Campus Wastewater and Stormwater Treatment System and discharge in Order WQ 2014-0153-DWQ, General Waste Discharge Requirements for Small Domestic Wastewater Treatment Systems. Small domestic wastewater treatment systems with average monthly flows below 100,000 gallons per day are eligible for enrollment in the General Order.

Reasons for Exemption
The Class 3 categorical exemption applies to projects consisting of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, the installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures, and related conversions of small structures, and includes utility improvements and extensions. The approximate area of the central utility plant occupied by the water treatment system is 7,200 square feet. The dimensions of the pump station that directs the water to the treatment system are approximately a length of 13.2 feet, width of 5.3 feet, and a height of 3 feet. Valve boxes and the wetland effluent lift station are below grade.
