Document Description
Install six (6) aluminum trail head signs and thirteen (13) Carsonite posts within Folsom Lake State Recreation Area to improve visibility of trails and enhance park visitors experiences. Work will: •Use hand tools to excavate twelve (12) 8-inch diameter by up to 18-inch deep holes, •Install one (1) 4 x 4 post in each hole; and •Mount six (6) 36-inch by 30-inch trail head signs (one (1) sign per two (2) holes/posts); and •Use a Carsonite pilot hole driver and post driver tools to install thirteen (13) Carsonite posts up to 18 inches deep. Carsonite posts will contain the trail name, mileage, allowable use, and trail etiquette decals.

Project consists of the operation, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, included as “Construction or installation of park facilities, such as interpretive signing or panels” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and the minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
