Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15061(b)(3), Common Sense Exemption
Reasons for Exemption
At its August 18, 2022 meeting, the Central San Board of Directors independently found this project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), since it can be "seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant adverse effect on the environment." This certainty is based on Central San's past experience with numerous sewer construction projects of this nature, the relatively short distance involved, and the impact-limiting nature of Central San’s construction specifications that would be required of the project.
