Document Description
The project is limited to addressing 2017 flood damages to two culverted stream crossings on Dix Creek in Lake Redding Park (Project). Crossing 1 consists of a 60-inch, 44-foot-long corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert with a cobblestone headwall and wingwall. The crossing will be repaired to pre-flood conditions. To repair the crossing, 8-feet of damaged CMP will be removed, and the remaining 36-feet of undamaged culvert will be lined with new 44-foot CMP so that 8-feet of new CMP replaces the damaged culvert. The existing, damaged inlet headwall will be removed, and a new concrete inlet headwall installed. Damages to the outlet headwall will be patched and repaired, a scour hole at the outlet will be filled with rock, and bank slopes will be restored to their original contours. Crossing 2 consists of a 60-inch, 45-foot-long CMP culvert and dry-laid rock headwall at the outlet. The entirety of the crossing infrastructure will be permanently removed at this location, and 0.01 acres of open channel will be restored. Work will involve removing the transportation crossing, embankment material, rock headwall, log rails, conduit, and the 45-foot long, 60-inch CMP. Restoration involves grading the area to match existing stream contours and applying erosion control using a native seed mix. Three trees will be removed in association with Project activities.
