Document Description
The Applicant proposes to construct a granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment system to remove 1,2,3 – TCP from the well that serves the Belmont Country Club. The GAC treatment system will be housed in a 144 square-foot building located approximately 300-feet west of the well site. The well water will also be chlorinated with 12.5% sodium hypochlorite. The GAC backwash wastewater will gravity flow to an in-ground storage tank to allow GAC fines to settle. The clarified water will discharge into a leach line near the driving range and the GAC fines will be disposed of off-site by the GAC supplier.

The treatment system's small new facility building is less than 200 square feet. None of the exceptions listed in section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines would apply to the proposed Project.
