Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes emergency mechanical repairs on the Old River Bridge (No. 29-0045) at post mile 0.51 on State Route (SR) 4, in San Joaquin County. While opening and closing the bridge during a recent inspection, one turnbuckle and two wedge shoes were damaged. The bridge is currently locked in the closed position, restricting nautical travel. The scope of work includes replacing the damaged turnbuckle and repairing the wedge shoes. All work will occur within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to repair/replace the damaged and failing bridge components. The project is needed to immediately restore the open-close function of the bridge for nautical access.
