The SR 269 City of Avenal Enhancement project would construct traffic calming elements to slow speeds through the city; construct bike lane striping along SR 269 and install flashing radar speed signs; install replacement streetscape planting by adding shade trees where feasible including 3-year plant establishment, adding streetscape appurtenances such as trash receptacles; benches, bike racks and enhancing utility boxes with artwork wraps; dry scaping of the shoulder entry as travelers' approaches the City from Coalinga between San Joaquin Street to Madera Street; approaching from SR 41, construct a new gateway monument at the intersection of SR 33 and SR 269 and enhance three existing gateway monuments in state right of way.
