The two gateway monuments along SR 299 will welcome drivers to Trinity County at postmile (PM) 0.51 and 72.06. The gateway monuments along SR36 will be installed in the west and east ends of the town of Chester at PM 6.35 and 11.10 respectively. The gateway monuments will beautify the roadside area and welcome drivers. Trinity County and the town of Chester do not have any gateway monuments. Both Trinity County and Chester could benefit from roadside beautification. Gateway monuments encourage traffic calming and for the traveling public to stop and visit the community.
