Document Description
The Tehama Co Public Works Department proposes to repair and realign approx 500 ft of Reeds Cr Rd where it has been washed out by Liza Cr. The creek runs immediately adjacent and parallel to the road and is approx. 30 ft below the roadway. The road will be reestablished in its original alignment and the roadway embankment protected with rock. The low flow channel of the creek will also be moved back to its original alignment within the existing creek channel. A temporary road detour will be constructed to maintain traffic flows during the project.

Reasons for Exemption
Statutory exemptions include emergency repair projects necessary for maintaining services essential to the public’s health, safety, and welfare. Specific actions necessary to prevent emergencies are also included. The work involves realigning Reeds Cr Road back to its original alignment. The road is currently a one lane road which is being actively eroded by the creek, located 30 vertical ft below the roadway. Water pollution control measures will be implemented as required by the County’s storm water pollution control standards. The project will be implemented under the provisions of resource agency emergency permitting authorities. There are no active hazardous waste sites within the project limits as documented in Geotracker.
