Alder Creek Crossing (Streambed Alteration Agreement No. SAC-29661-R2)
NOE - Notice of Exemption
The project is limited to approximately 1000 feet of horizontal boring and installation of conveyance piping to connect a newly installed groundwater extraction well to an existing treatment facility. A vault and control panel be installed near the well, and conveyance piping with associated electrical infrastructure will be installed from the well to the tie-in point. Approximately 50 feet of conveyance piping will be installed beneath Alder Creek using horizontal drilling techniques. A bore pit will be dug outside of Alder Creek, and a horizontal boring will be advanced underneath Alder Creek to an exit point on the far side of the creek. A 10-inch diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) carrier pipe will be pulled through the boring, and the 6-inch diameter HDPE groundwater line and three 2-inch diameter HDPE electrical conduits will be pulled
through the carrier pipe. Work will be performed using a horizontal boring rig and hand tools. An excavator and skid-steer will be used to create the bore pits but will be located outside of Alder Creek. No trees or other vegetation is anticipated to be impacted.
