Lane two has settled approximately 4" due to base failure underneath the concrete panels. The entire structural section of the damaged lane will be removed and replaced. The adjacent shoulder will also be replaced with hot mix asphalt. The purpose of the project is to immediately correct the collapsing pavement section. The differential settlement between the two lanes poses a potential hazard to the traveling public.
