The proposed Project is limited to investigative trenching and excavation activities within Elder Creek for the purpose of exposing a segment of gas pipeline for inspection and potential repair. Approximately 768 cubic feet of earthen material will be excavated within the primary channel of Elder Creek and require approximately 25,000 square feet (0.57 acres) of disturbance within bed, bank, and channel. Access to the excavation area will be from existing roads in addition to traversing the stream bed for approximately one-quarter mile. All equipment will be staged in an existing bare ground area one-quarter mile south of the excavation site on private land. At the end of operations, the excavated area will be backfilled with excavated native fill and graded to match surrounding streambed contours.
