Document Description
A categorical exclusion/exemption has been prepared for this project that proposes to install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) to enhance traffic safety by reducing collisions between vehicles and pedestrians/bicyclists at uncontrolled marked pedestrian crosswalks at ramp intersections. Install 43 new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons systems at 14 interchanges on various routes in San Mateo County. Additional non-standard items including ramp meters, curb ramps and sidewalks will be upgraded to current standard. Drain inlets and pull boxes will be replaced within project limits. Also refresh existing crosswalks with high visibility thermoplastic striping.
