Document Description
This project will replace, update, improve and/or standardize the design and aesthetic of the signage throughout in Jack London State Historic Park to improve interpretive and wayfinding experiences for visitors. The project will be split into three sections: front country, back country, and interpretive panels. The work will be as follows: In the front country: ? Affix a new sign to the existing park entrance kiosk; ? Remove all existing sings and install one (1) new sign at each the lower parking lot at the museum path, the House of Happy Walls trailhead, Wolf House Service Road at the parking lot, upper parking lot at Beauty Ranch trailhead, upper parking lot at the horse stables, and Lake service Road at the Silos; ? Install an additional sign at the Wolf House Service Road parking lot identifying the maintenance access road; ? Remove the existing sign and install an updated informational sign at the Gravesite trail on Wolf House Service Road; ? Install additional signs at the Oak Grove Picnic Area, Eucalyptus Grove Picnic Area, Terrace Picnic Area, and Lake Service Road at the Silos; and ? Install additional directional signs at Lake Service Road at the Winery Ruins. In the Back Country: ? Install informational signs along existing user created social trails and install addition multi-use trail right-of-way signs. All new trail signs will match the existing wooded signs with routed lettering painted yellow. Add or update informational panels, as needed, at the following locations: ? Eucalyptus Management ? London Lake ? Home Orchard ? Ancient Redwood ? Orchard: Plums and History, Peaches, and Apples and Pears This will also include the addition of a Land Acknowledgment sign. Panel support posts will be black metal set in concrete and will have either a single or double post, depending on size of panel.
